SONGFEST
Yesterday
stormy,
blustery,
flurries
in
my county.
Today
it's sparkly
as
it turned out quite sunny
though
frosty and icy.
Someone
sounds lovely,
cheery,
lively, bubbly.
Heard
singing brightly.
I
think you'll agree
though
you can't see
who's
lovely to me.
Because
they're hungry
they
sing sweetly
for
something yummy.
With
breasts downy
and
knees knobby
chirping
loudly.
They
eat seeds oily
at
this party
sounding
merry.
They
try oranges tangy
and
millet tasty
while
chatting happily.
Oh no! Someone haughty
comes
acting rowdy,
sassy,
not friendly.
Sounding
off-key,
shrewd
and shrilly.
Singing
sharply.
Can
be feisty.
Might
be huffy,
grouchy,
grumpy.
Doesn't
act nicely.
Does
eat hearty
and
yaks loudly.
For
blue jays greedy
and
somewhat snooty
yearly
scares birdies.
Little
birdies
become
chatty.
Away
they hurry.
These
sweet tweeties
take
a journey
to
the valley.
Miss
their beauty.
Little
pudgy
gray
chickadees...
bring
much delight to me.
A
winter jubilee
when
they come say "howdy."
Singing
sweetly,
sounding
lovely,
lively,
bubbly...
happy,
merry,
cheery,
yearly
on
their journey.
A
joyous chickadee
songfest
jubilee
is
waiting for me.

* * * *
My
mother daily feeds the birds.
Her
goal is to feed the small birds,
yet
the blue jays and squirrels
know
when breakfast is served.
This
doesn't make my mother happy
when
small birds are chased away daily.
Perhaps
a lesson can be gleaned
from
these bullies who are being mean.
These
bigger bullies are selfish and are not prone to sharing.
Their
actions show they only think of themselves, vs. caring.
Are
their actions inbred?
Can
that be truly said?
Don't
be like these bullies who are greedy and selfish.
Be
known for your kindness, goodness, and gentleness.
Be
known for being generous and willing to share.
Your
legacy. Let those in need know you really care.
Be
it the smallest creatures or those who are hurting,
be
a friend to those in need. God is pleased when you're willing.
...the time of the singing of
birds is come...
Song
of Songs 2:12 (KJV)
Do
nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit,
but
in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Philippians
2:3
If
you harbor bitter and selfish ambition in your hearts,
do
not boast about it or deny the truth.
Such
"wisdom" does not come down from heaven
but
is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.
For
where you have envy and selfish ambition,
there
you find disorder and every evil practice.
James
3:14-16
Command
them to do good,
to
be rich in good deeds,
and
to be generous and willing to share.
I
Timothy 6:18
Do
not forget to do good and to share with others,
for
with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrews
13:16
