Garden Tour 7/13/18

Dry here in Upstate NY.  Watering every morning but not everything.

Purple Cone Flowers
Though gave away a flat of smaller ones,
will need to divide and conquer more.

Foxglove
From my friend Lesley's sister in NJ.
They self-seed abundantly
but do not winter over well here.

Ligularia Rocket

My gardening account was empty
and was having a pout
so made flowers to show expected company.

Gold coronation yarrow needs to be cut
if I plan to preserve for everlastings.
Yucca has 3 stalks this year.

Love-in-a-mist
self seeds.

Zinnias in every color except blue.
Love the flower within the flower.

My pots of gold here at Rainbow's End.
Love to go out early morning to listen to the bee symphony.

These violas from Ruby
selfseeded into the kitchen compost.
Non stop blooming whereas violas elsewhere have dried up.

First Yukon gold potato blossom.
Could/should/would dig in the side for the best tasting new potatoes.

Angel Trumpet
Wintered over in the basement.

Daylily

Tree lily
Grossly attacked by red lily beetles.
If anyone knows how to successfully combat,
please let me know.

Gloriosa Daisies in two combos.
Foliage is somewhat fuzzy
compared to rudbeckias.

Stargazer Lily (fragrant).

Rosa agosa still budding and blooming despite lack of rain.
 Its rosehips.

TY Helen for the calla lilies.

This clematis by the drainpipe is still happily blooming.

I don't spend much on annuals but wave petunias catch my attention.

Just now forgot the name of this daisy, an annual here in the northeast.
I'll winter over in the basement for winter blooms.

Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
Song of Songs 2:11

This morning papa and mama cardinal were communicating
outside the backdoor.
They were in and out of the cedar, though I can't see a nest.
Tried to take a photo but they're good a hiding in other bushes.
