AUGUST
FLOWERS
Flowers
that bloom in August
are
splendid, majestic
for
that’s what the word august means:
grand,
noble, revered, honorable. August flowers beam.
Butterfly
Bush
What’s
that revered bush over there?
What
grand purple flowers it wears.
Its
perfume is different.
Not
very elegant.
When
butterflies sip, it’s a glorious sight
bringing
all butterflies and me much delight
for
you will see me beam
under
the sun’s warm beams.
Another
welcome visitor to the butterfly bush
is
the rapidly moving - look quick - hummingbird moth;
on
warm summer days
they
sip-sip-sip away.
Butterfly
bushes come in various colors.
The
flower is reminiscent of lilac flowers.
Springtime
lilac bush flowers are much more perfumed.
Butterfly
bush flowers have a peculiar perfume.
Yet,
bees don't seem to mind
as
they sip and sup and dine.
Do
take time to enjoy all pollinators
found
at the butterfly bush all summer.
Mums
Marvelous
mums arrive the end of the season
providing
glorious color to the garden.
What
color will bring you delight?
I
want one of each in sight.
If
you rub against one beware,
their
scent you will surely wear.
Buy
mums in August to be sure
your
garden will look superb.
When
buying mums, look for the hardy variety
which
will last for many seasons,
while
the ones labeled garden variety
will
only survive one season.
Phlox
Phlox
in fragrant globes of pinks, purples, and whites
will
surely bring the gardener delight.
Standing
so gracefully showing off their puffs
makes
the flower garden look grand and glorious.
Lightly
scented,
so
honored,
on
tall noble stalks that please.
Beware,
nibbling deer do not please.

August
describes more than flowers.
grand,
noble, revered, honored
for
that’s how God sees us.
In
His opinion please trust.
Don’t
believe the lies
you’ve
heard by and by.
Believe
that God loves you -
and
unconditionally too -
despite
what you have done
or
maybe haven’t done.
You
are precious to the Lord.
God
says so in His Word.
He
loves you truly,
individually,
and
unconditionally -
endless
love, a fact that’s key.
How
precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!
How
great is the sum of them!
If
I should count them, they are more in number than the sand.
Psalm
139:17 (KJV)
You
are precious and honored in my sight
and
because I love you.
Isaiah
43:4
How
great is the love the Father has lavished on us,
that
we should be called children of God!
And
that is what we are!
I
John 3:1
Praise
the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits -
who
forgives all your sins
and
heals all your diseases,
who
redeems your life from the pit
and
crowns you with love and compassion,
who
satisfies your desires with good things.
Psalm
103:2-5
The
Lord is faithful to all his promises
and
loving toward all he has made.
The
Lord upholds all those who fall
and
lifts up all who are bowed down.
The
eyes of all look to you,
and
you give them their food at the proper time.
You
open your hand
and
satisfy the desires of every living thing.
Psalm
145:13b-16
