A beautiful day in the neighborhood,
although rain would be welcome.
Just hand watered round and about with bucketsful.
Notice how the pink zinnia has an orange center
and the red zinnia has a magenta center.
Geraniums:
(My Gram's red rosebud. Wintered over in basement for many years.)
(Thank you, Ron and Jessie, for these two.)
Fascinated by stamens today:
(First hibiscus of the season.)
(Center of dahlia. Thank you Ruby.)
(Sunflower)
(Purple cone flower.)
(Zinnia)
(Rudbeckia)
Here comes the sun:
(Perhaps 12 feet tall.)
Sad to see the last of the hollyhocks and turkscap lilies.
My family calls these Grampa's lilies.
Each leafleaf produces one or more bulbettes.
(Planted 40 pots containing 5 lily bulbettes/seeds each.)
Bees do not rest on Sundays.
They do rest on rainy days.
Non-stop blooms all season. Thank you Lesley.
Russian Sage
Caladiums returning after deer chowed down.
Three grape tomatoes self-seeded from last year.
See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop
and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.
