Morning Stroll 5/14/18

Southwest woodland garden contains, in part:  jack-in-the-pulpit, trilliums, solomon seal.

Today's flowering trees:  dogwood, red crab apple, weeping cherry.

Some of spring's dainties:  wild violets, bleeding hearts, forget-me-nots.

Holly flowering:

Mother hen and her chicks:

On my way back out to dig up more to share.
Weather forecast states dodging rain showers all week.
Much more will be springing up by inches,
including gazillion x gazillion x gazillion maple seedlings.
Learned it's called masting, meaning "darn frustrating" in Latin.
Not one of the joys of gardening.

As a hen gathers her chicks under her wings.
